Barcadia Baton Rouge is throwing its hat in the brunch game.

Kitchen manager and chef Nick Hufft says the Capital City location started serving Sunday brunch two weeks ago.

“We thought, ‘Why not?'” Hufft says. “Baton Rouge is a brunch city, and we wanted to be a part of that.”

The specials run 11 a.m.-3 p.m. On the drink side, there are $3 Bloody Marys and mimosas. On the food side, well, get a bib, because Hufft gave 225 Dine the lowdown on what he’s serving, and you’re sure to drool.

The menu includes breakfast tacos at $2.50 a piece with your choice of quarter-inch thick housemade bacon, sausage or potato hash, egg and cheese. Pictured above is the Curbside Breakfast Burger, made with French Toast buns, housemade sausage, egg, cheese and bacon.

“It’s a fork and knife play on the burger,” Hufft says.

Other menu items include BBQ shrimp and grits, corned beef hash and eggs, and chicken and waffles.

Hufft says in the future, Barcadia Baton Rouge will run other specials to figure out what’s a hit with his customers.
