The rain seems to be messing up everyone’s plans these days. After last weekend’s downpour threatened the fun of the Blues Festival, this weekend’s weather isn’t looking any sunnier.

Slow Food Baton Rouge isn’t taking any chances, either.

The nonprofit organization has moved the location of its biggest event of the year. In an announcement Tuesday night, Slow Food Baton Rouge says due to rain concerns, Dinner in the Field has been moved to the James Grace House, 24455 W L Grace Road.

The event is still set for Sunday, April 19, kicking off with a 4 p.m. cocktail hour, featuring music and small plates provided by Country Table and Red Stick Spice Company. The seven-course dinner begins at 5 p.m., featuring local ingredients sourced and provided by Indie Plate. The chefs featured at the event include Ryan André of City Pork Brasserie & Bar, Jenny Cornelius of Nino’s, Andy Papson of Tallulah and Eric Arceneaux of the City Club.

Proceeds from the event benefit Slow Food Baton Rouge’s farm to school pilot program, Greauxing Healthy Baton Rouge.

Limited tickets remain. Tickets for just the cocktail hour are $20. Tickets for the cocktail hour and dinner are $150 per person.

In the March issue of 225, Maggie Heyn Richardson profiled the event in full detail. Check out her story here.
