The LSU Museum of Art continues its “Everlasting Calm: The Art of Elliott Daingerfield” retrospective exhibit. More than 50 of Daingerfield’s oil paintings of Southern and Western landscapes are showcased in the exhibit. Admission and hours vary. lsumoa.org

Head to the Louisiana Art & Science Museum for “Diamond Nights: Photographs by Beth Moon.” The photographer’s work focuses primarily on Botswana, Namibia and South Africa, with photos of the Baobab, or “Tree of Life.” Admission and hours vary. lasm.org

Ending Jan. 28

LSU’s Hill Memorial Library is closing up its “Investigating Sherlock: Selections from the Russell Mann Sherlock Holmes Research Collection” exhibit this month. A selection of works can be viewed in the upper and lower main galleries. This exhibit is free. lib.lsu.edu 

Beginning Jan. 5

LSU is bringing a New Orleans phenomenon to Baton Rouge. The LSU Student Union Art Gallery is holding the “Dear World Exhibition,” with photographs of people showcasing hopes and fears written on their hands and arms. The exhibit is free and open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
