Wrapping up National Burger Month

After last week’s look at some of Baton Rouge’s best burger joints, we gave the mic to our readers so they could let us know their favorite places to get the American classic.

Among the honorable mentions from our readers are some usual suspects—Five Guys, Mugshots, Dearman’s (Map it!) and Fat Cow.

Via Twitter, @rfelix says his favorite burger is from the Curbside food truck: “There is no other. All hail THE burger.” @ShoeFanatic614 says Mason’s Grill is “hands down the best burger in this city.”

While we did get a lot of fans talking up Burgersmith (Map it!), Cindy Souter Abadie tells us that Portobello’s Bocage location has her favorite—the Red Stick burger with grilled onions, Gorgonzola cheese and applewood smoked bacon. Miriam Juban says Hawk’s Nest (Map it!), a restaurant in the Sherwood/Coursey area known for its shrimp remoulade, has a classic burger. The new tap room The Pelican House also got a shout-out.

If you want to give 225 your two cents on the best burger in town, you can drop us an e-mail at [email protected], leave a comment on this story or tell us on Twitter, @225batonrouge. National Burger Month ends May 31.
