Wrappin’ it up at Salivation Station

A new bright-yellow truck is feeding Baton Rouge wraps and paninis with six degrees of salivation: pulled pork, grilled chicken, fresh local vegetables and more on a variety of breads. Salivation Station upgrades regular deli sandwiches with gourmet ingredients such as their signature aioli and a homemade boudin. Although the menu only offers six items, they are all delicious, so be sure to give yourself some time for decision making. One of the more popular meals is the No. 6, Salivating Pulled Pork Wrap ($7.25). Within the confines of a warm tortilla, the Salivation Station crew combines tender, juicy pork with boudin and aioli. The creamy coleslaw is a sweet surprise, but the chef clearly knows what he is doing. Another favorite is the No. 3, Ragin Cajun Panini ($7.25), with grilled chicken, sausage and bacon. This sandwich receives a decent helping of aioli and cheddar cheese and plenty of heat from jalapeńos and a jalapeńo sauce. For an additional buck-fifty, you can add a side of chips and a drink. If you still have room, there’s the Praline Pecan Bread Pudding ($4.25) to finish off a tasty mobile meal. The roving location of the Salivation Station can be found on Twitter and Facebook and at salivationstation.com.
