Whispers

Oblivion star Tom Cruise and wife Katie Holmes were spotted recently without daughter Suri at Whole Foods where they picked up a sushi lunch to go. Our source says both were dressed casually, with Holmes sporting workout clothes and a ponytail, and Cruise wearing jeans and a simple black short sleeve shirt. Holmes browsed through the home-style foods while they waited for their order. The couple is expected in Baton Rouge until mid-June.

Multiple sources within local law enforcement are predicting this summer could be a particularly violent one for Baton Rouge, due, in part, to the response from the first-degree murder trial of Torrence Hatch—also known as rapper Lil Boosie. The jury found the rapper not guilty of first-degree murder in May. A Baton Rouge native, Hatch is serving a 8-year sentence on a prior drug conviction, and official are bracing for a spike in violence in reaction to the trial. On May 7, a man was arrested for tweeting, “I got a sniper rifle for Hillar Moore,” referencing the district attorney.?

Master hunter and Swamp People star R.J. Molinare Jr. showed his support for U.S. Representative Bill Cassidy by attending a fundraiser for the republican from Baton Rouge held in Thibodaux mere hours before having to fly to New York City to make an appearance for his top-rated cable series. Though Molinare’s co-star Mitchell Guist died recently, the show’s popularity doesn’t appear to be fading. According to recent Nielsen ratings, more adults aged 18-49 watch Swamp People on the History Channel than watch NBA basketball on TNT.
