Which Wich open on Siegen

-

Popular Dallas-based sandwich chain Which Wich Superior Sandwiches has come to Baton Rouge, bringing a whole new meaning to the phrase “brown-bagging it.” Which Wich allows customers to customize their sandwiches from the ground up by picking a bag at the entrance, marking their choice of toppings on the bag with a red sharpie, then handing their bag over to the employees to make their dream sandwich a reality. Customers can start with one of 10 sandwich varieties, including ham and pork, Italian, vegetarian, and seafood, and then make more detailed choices. An almost daunting selection of cheeses, spreads, veggies and spices means there are hundreds of options at every bag holder’s fingertips. For the terminally indecisive, Which Wich offers a signature sandwich called The Wicked, which piles on five types of meats and three cheeses, although it still allows you to select your toppings. Carb-conscious diners can order bowls—essentially sandwiches without the bread—and there’s also a “Kidswich” menu, offering simple fare like PB&J and grilled cheese for younger, pickier eaters. LSU graduate Guy Harper is responsible for bringing the fast-service sandwich shop to the Capital City. He got his introduction to the brand while working for the FDIC in New York. On a business trip to Dallas, he says, “I stumbled into store one—the very first Which Wich—and was just sort of blown away.” Taken with the unique concept and high-quality product, Harper decided it was a great fit for Baton Rouge. Although Siegen is currently their sole location, Harper is already looking to expand with several more Baton Rouge restaurants as well as future locations in Lafayette.
