West Baton Rouge Museum
This Monday, in honor of Martin Luther King Day, the West Baton Rouge Museum will be open and free to the public with a brand-new exhibit, Testimony of Fire: Frederick Douglass’s Connection to Louisiana Politics. Featuring Douglass as orator, abolitionist, author, women’s suffragist, visitors can get to know the civil rights activist who corroborated with President Lincoln on the abolition of slavery, and black citizenship, suffrage and military service. There will also be a special showing of the film Glory will be shown at 10:30a.m. and again at 1:30p.m. westbatonrougemuseum.com
