Wedding Singer rocks into the River Center

Tonight, take a trip back to the ’80s with the musical The Wedding Singer on the River Center stage. Set in New Jersey in 1985, the story follows Robbie Hart, a washed-up musician who performs at weddings for a living. His life takes an unexpected turn, however, when he meets waitress Julia, who encourages him to keep pursuing his dream of rock stardom. Although both of them are engaged to other people, the two start falling for each other, and a comedy of mistaken identities, misunderstandings and John Hughes-esque romance ensues. As an added twist, the leads—Jillian and J. Michael Zygo—are husband and wife, and their real-life chemistry adds an extra dimension to the performance. 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $29 to $49.
