Watch Carrie return to the silver screen – An award-winning filmmaker tackles a horror classic released just in time for Halloween.

An award-winning filmmaker tackles a horror classic released just in time for Halloween. Carrie returns to theaters Friday, with Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry, Stop-Loss) directing the adaptation of Stephen King’s classic novel about a shy young girl who, after being pushed too far, unleashes her telekinetic powers on a small town. Chloë Grace Moretz stars as the title character and Oscar nominee Julianne Moore stars as Carrie’s mother. Though recent horror remakes have fared well with critics and at the box office, this one has a lot to overcome: the original 1976 adaptation is considered iconic, thanks to Brian De Palma’s direction and Sissy Spacek’s star turn as Carrie. Rated R. Check out the trailer below.
