Various Artists: One Heart

Love is an all-inclusive concept, a reciprocation of well-being that crosses any boundary. This collection of songs—produced by local entertainment entrepreneur Chuck Bush for his boutique, faith-based label Eccentricity Records—includes a diverse group of Louisiana artists. It does well expressing the splendid variance of sounds, from hip-hop to hard rock, that a multitude of tongues can offer to God.

The compilation kicks off with joyful songs of praise by Nick Myers and Tommy Faulk.  It then takes a more soulful turn with the soaring vocals of Angie Ewing and Betsy Alleman. There is even a rhythmic tale of redemption by LA Will who raps about the healing power of love. My personal favorite, “Me and My Friends,” is a humorous little song by Oh!Kelly. This cut simply expresses the endless subject at hand. Whether you’re into rap or polka, this album probably has a little something for you, even if it’s a simple reminder of the countless ways love can be expressed every day. eccentricityrecords.com
