Treat your tastebuds this Halloween
Halloween means candy in the hearts and minds of kids all over the country, but just because you’ve outgrown going door-to-door with bag in hand doesn’t mean you can’t indulge yourself. These local sweet shops offer bites that’ll keep you satisfied way longer than a bulk-bought Butterfinger bar: Chocollage in Bocage Market sells gourmet chocolate and candies from Godiva to Jelly Belly. Stop by Strands downtown for one of their hand-made gourmet chocolates, like a lemongrass-infused bonbon, or their new caramelized honey-filled treat, the “tiger eye.” And while you’re scoping out veggies at the Red Stick Farmers’ Market on Saturday morning, drop by Steve Lawrence’s booth for some more toothsome treats, like his Sazerac-flavored chocolate or rosemary-infused caramel.
