‘Tower’ over me
If convicted Wall Street shyster Bernie Madoff had had more bold, blue-collar victims, the result may have been Tower Heist, the new revenge comedy staring Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy out this Friday. Directed by Brett Ratner and co-written by Ocean’s Eleven scribe Jeff Nathanson, the film follows a group of working stiffs that, after falling victim to a high stakes Ponzi scheme with their hard-earned money, hatches a plan to rob the penthouse apartment of the wealthy wheeler-dealer responsible for their losses. Helpless when it comes to criminal strategy, Stiller turns to a former friend-turned-sly-thief—Murphy in a welcome return to smart, adult-aimed comedy—to prep his friends for the big robbery. Casey Affleck, Matthew Broderick and Alan Alda co-star. Rated R. (Image courtesy Universal Pictures)
