Thursday farmers market opens next week

It’s almost here. Red Stick Farmers Market braces for its new mid-week market next week next door to Investar Bank on Perkins at Essen (7248 Perkins Rd.) Swing by from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursdays for fresh produce from Louisiana farms. For its grand opening on March 26, there will be music by the John Gray Jazz Ensemble, as well as cooking demonstrations, strawberry lemonade, cake and plenty of familiar faces such as Ag Commissioner Mike Strain and state Rep.
