Things are looking ‘Up’

Disney Pixar’s smash animated hit from last spring, Up, finally arrives on DVD and Blu-ray this week. Pushing 80 and slightly crusty, retiree Carl Frederickson is reluctantly on his way to a retirement home. But before he can be dragged away, Carl escapes with the help of thousands of helium balloons tied to his house, lifting off on the adventure he has longed for since he and his childhood love dreamt of going to South America. But just before launch, an 8-year-old scout looking to earn a merit badge for helping the elderly ends up in Carl’s home and becomes a stowaway for the fantastical flight ahead. Delroy Lindo, Christopher Plumber, John Ratzenberger co-star. Rated PG.
