The Spiderwick Chronicles in theaters Thursday

The first big family film of 2008 stars Freddie Highmore, the talented youngster from Finding Neverland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, in this beloved fantasy series adapted for screen by Baton Rouge High alum Karey Kirkpatrick. Highmore plays twins Jared and Simon Grace who discover an alternate world of creatures both kind and mysterious when their family moves to foreboding Spiderwick Estate. Rated PG.
