The Record Crate by Alex V. Cook – Yvette Landry, My Morning Jacket, and WHYR’s Radiopalooza

I decided to forego the super-sized spectacle of Bayou Country Superfest and instead, bike my way down to the free fan fest in the parking lot to catch Yvette Landry’s brilliant honky-tonk set. Pedal steel maestro Richard Comeaux gave the set its most graceful moments, but there was a second when Landry let out a country holler that echoed off the cliff faces of Tiger Stadium. Read more…
