The Record Crate by Alex V. Cook – Powering through it, The Trail of Dead, and Big Daddy Blue needs your help

I should have taken my own advice last week and made the Marc Olson show at Chelsea’s last Thursday, for reasons I’ll say in a second. Beforehand, I hit up Butch Hancock, a third of the cowboy mystics the Flatlanders and there were no disappointments. Hancock is one of those songwriters for whom a song is but a trampoline upon which one bounces that much closer to the infinite, and thus, he doesn’t feel they need to be reined in by the dull old linear thinking.
