The ‘Kids’ are all right
Last year saw No Strings Attached and Friends with Benefits test the boundaries of physical and relationships, and this Friday, actress Jennifer Westfeldt arrives with her debut feature as a director called Friends with Kids. The film flips that script by focusing on the lives of two best friends who decide to enter into a platonic domestic relationship and adopt a child so they can avoid the complications that can arise when kids get in the way of romance. Westfeldt stars with Parks & Recreation’s Adam Scott as her domestic partner, until things get very complicated. Bridesmaids’ ex Kristin Wiig and Mad Men star Jon Hamm, are along for the ride as the Westfeldt’s oversexed friends while Edward Burns, Megan Fox and Maya Rudolf round out the cast of this atypical romantic comedy. Rated R.
