The FBI wants YOU!

-

Howard Schwartz, assistant special agent in charge of FBI operations in Louisiana, says the nation’s premier law enforcement agency needs more good men and women than usual these days.

Faced with an unusually high number of employees set to retire, the FBI plans to hire 850 new agents and more than 1,200 non-agent specialists this year for its 56 domestic field offices plus its overseas bureaus.

“We’re looking for highly motivated professional people who want to protect America from terrorists, spies, criminals, or any other individual or organization that wants to hurt the U.S.,” Schwartz says.

Becoming a special agent is no easy task. In addition to possessing a bachelor’s degree, applicants must be between 23 and 37 years old and exceptionally fit, qualify for a top-secret security clearance, and possess a critical skill specialty such as an advanced degree or be an expert in accounting, computers or law enforcement. Got all that squared away? Then buckle up for six months of intensive training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Va. fbijobs.com
