The dating guru – Baton Rougean “Bachelor of the Year” goes on Today

Maybe Ryan Chenevert didn’t expect this when he won Cosmopolitan‘s Bachelor of the Year for 2012, but he’s now considered an expert on the modern dating scene. That’s why you might have seen him on NBC’s The Today Show last week with Hoda Kotb and Meredith Vieira (Kathie Lee Gifford was off) dishing on courtship in the digital age alongside sex therapist Ian Kerner and Flirtexting coauthor Debra Goldstein.

Chenevert had been on the show before, after his Cosmo win, and the producers offered to fly him up to New York City again to be part of the panel. While he was thrilled for the opportunity, he doesn’t exactly see himself as a dating guru.

“The funny part about the whole thing is they brought me up to be an expert on the dating world, and that’s not me at all,” Chenevert said after returning to Baton Rouge. “I go on dates but I’m no expert.”

Still, the producers must think he’s a worthy guest, having already discussed the possibility of future segments for him. He says Kotb and Vieira were incredibly friendly and, knowing of Kotb’s love for Louisiana—she worked for WWL-TV in New Orleans in the ’90s—he sent her a king cake from Gambino’s ahead of the taping.
