The Counterfeiters print to DVD, for real

Few know that Hitler’s regime was responsible for the largest counterfeiting operation in history. Called Operation Bernhard, the 1936 effort imprisoned a number of German Jews skilled in reproduction in an attempt to recreate millions in foreign currency and weaken the economies of Germany’s allied enemies. Based on The Devil’s Workshop, the real life memoirs of Adolf Burger, The Counterfeiters follows this group of illicit moneymakers as they are taken to plush barracks at a concentration camp, forced to work for the Nazis, and bludgeoned with the guilt and terror of aiding their oppressors.
