The Avett Brothers to perform in St. Francisville

Locals modern folk music fans have a reason to be excited this fall.

St. Francisville will host the 2013 Modern South Music Fest. The festival will feature performances from The Avett Brothers, Wade Bowen and Charlie Worsham.

The festival takes place Nov. 10 at the Hemingbough Events Center.

The Avett Brothers started around 2000 and made a splash with 2007’s Emotionalism. The band’s 2012 album The Carpenter debuted at no. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 album sales chart. The group’s eighth album, Magpie and the Dandelion is slated for an Oct. 15 release. Rick Rubin produced the album.
