Tarzan swings into action

Edgar Rice Burroughs saw his legendary ape-man come to life on the silver screen just four years after the publication of novel, Tarzan of the Apes. Now you, too, have a chance to see the first Tarzan movie ever made in a way that even Burroughs never could have imagined. Stretch out on the lawn by the Baton Rouge Gallery for a mesmerizing big-screen showing of the 1918 version of the film, accompanied by a live score performed by the (New) Zeelanders. Bug spray and picnic blankets/folding chairs are recommended. Free to members, $5 to the general public. Saturday, 8 p.m.
