Take a wild ride with art

It must be painted, collaged, decorated, sculpted or covered in something unusual, but most importantly it must roll. Cars that meet these eccentric requirements are eligible to enter in the annual Art Car Parade, which hits the streets of downtown Saturday, May 3. The pre-parade show begins at 10 a.m. in the State Capitol parking lot and voting for your favorite begins at 11 a.m. Vote for your favorite vehicle by donating a canned good to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. At noon the spectacle begins as art cars take to the streets, parading down Fourth Street to the Shaw Center and ending at Fest for All.
