Stroll downtown for Wine Walk Wednesdays

A pub crawl without the beer—imagine that! Only, this crawl’s more refined. Wine Walk Wednesdays downtown is gaining popularity since its inception five weeks ago. Friends Chris Laureles and Wardell Junius approached downtown restaurants about hosting wine tastings on a slow night. Tonight’s Wine Walk begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Kingfish Lounge inside the Hilton, where four wines will be poured for sampling, and other glasses of wine are half-priced. Then flock to Stroube’s Chophouse, then Tsunami, then 333 Bistreaux and end the walk at the Wine Loft. The Wine Walk hosts spend about an hour at each venue. $10 gets you a wristband good for 12 different wine tastings, the half-off wine-by-the-glass, and plenty of menu specials.
