‘Steppin’ up to the competition

Step out to the Lyceum Ballroom this Saturday night for the fourth annual Steppin’ in the Bayou competition and silent auction. This yearly contest celebrates various styles of step dancing—Chicago steppin’, two-step and swing or swing-out—as nine couples compete to take home the cash prizes. Between each couple’s set, they’ll demonstrate different kinds of dances, and invite audience participation. D’Jon’s Restaurant will provide light hors d’oeuvres, and guests can belly up to the cash bar for a few drinks between dances. The event will last 8 p.m. ‘til 1 a.m. Don’t know how to step?
