The weekend of August 16-18 will be epic. Whether you want to launch or join a startup, work on a project, or just do something cool, Startup Weekend provides those opportunities and more next month.

The event will be held in the Bon Carre Conference Center starting at 6:30 pm on Friday night and continue through a high-octane weekend until final pitches are given on Sunday night.

The organizing team (see the awesome people co-organizing the event with me here) has many activities planned. From an idea pitch and team formation on Friday night, to customer validation and business model formation Saturday and Sunday to final presentations on Sunday night, it’s an action-packed weekend filled with friends, fun, learning and action. This is the eighth Startup Weekend in Louisiana, and the third in Baton Rouge.

Working shoulder-to-shoulder with other talented people is one of the most valued part of the weekend. The Weekend gives participants hands on experience in developing what one of the granddaddies of startup accelerators, TechStars, considers one of the most important parts of a successful startup: the team. This isn’t just a happy hour. Startup Weekend attracts our community’s best makers and do-ers.
