Soderbergh brings Che and his new Girlfriend to New Orleans

U-High graduate and Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh returns to Louisiana this week to screen his two latest films at events hosted by the New Orleans Film Society. Tonight, the road show version of Che, Soderbergh’s sprawling biopic of the Cuban revolutionary starring Benicio del Toro, will screen at Canal Place Cinema at 6:30 p.m. There will be a 15-minute intermission to break up the 4-plus. Thursday at 7 p.m. Soderbergh’s experimental call girl drama The Girlfriend Experience will debut at the Prytania Theatre. The Baton Rouge-raised director will sit for Q&A sessions and take questions from the audience after both screenings. Tickets are $25 for Che and $15 for The Girlfriend Experience. Proceeds benefit the New Orleans Film Society.
