Skating on the river

With Baton Rouge’s relatively warm and humid winters, the chances of its citizens ever getting to experience skating on an actual frozen river is nil. Thank goodness then for the River Center’s annual “Skating on the River” event, which allows us to strap on some blades and skitter around on the ice for an hour or two. The annual event starts December 18 this year and continues through January 3.
