Sing a ‘Carol’

Disney’s new CG-animated adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic redemption tale A Christmas Carol stars Jim Carrey as not only the curmudgeonly miser Ebenezer Scrooge, but also the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Yet to Come. Adapted and directed by Back to the Future creator Robert Zemeckis—who experimented similarly in digital motion-capture filmmaking with Beowulf and Polar Express—once again returns to a time-warping narrative as Scrooge’s spectral visitors show him what effects his heartless actions have had and will continue to have if he doesn’t see the light. Bob Hoskins, Gary Oldman and Robin Wright Penn also lend their vocal talents to this visually rich, but faithfully rendered retelling of A Christmas Carol. The film will also be available in 3D at select IMAX theaters. Rated PG.
