Spanish Moon

Angular indie rock is no stranger to the Baton Rouge club scene, but very few bands dare to fly the art-rock flag like The Lazarus Heart. Come experience the smoother side of angular as Erin Frith croons over the electric dynamics created by Jermaine Keith Butler on bass, John Tulley on guitar, Andrew Greene on drums, all tasked with “noise.” >>More

Phil Brady’s

There are legends and then there are legends. Henry Gray was the piano player for the likes of Howlin’ Wolf and Lil’ Walter, and has been throwing out some of the most lethal blues with his band The Cats for years. In 2006, Gray became a recipient of the National Endowments for the Arts National Heritage Fellowship, the highest national award for folk and traditional arts. Henry Gray is the real deal. >>More

The Darkroom

Houma’s loudest and finest is in effect at The Darkroom, and as a Houma survivor myself, I’d be remiss if I did not give props to our neglected cousin out on Hwy 90. Reach Here Thy Hand is an epic Christian hard rock band whose energy is only matched by the faith that unabashedly guides them. Fire at the Empire offer a mix of arena-ready teen anthems and off-kilter post-hardcore weirdness. Feed the Machine from Larose and Jude Fawley from Baton Rouge are in support.
