New Venture Theatre launches its 2014 season with the high-spirited Shout! A Good News Musical this weekend. The show tells the story of gospel music, how the genre was born and how it is reborn through each generation. The performances kick off Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Manship Theatre and will run until Sunday. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $25 here.
