Sharp Cook classes coming to Alexander’s
Among the growing opportunities to perfect your culinary skills in Baton Rouge are new cooking classes at the recently opened Alexander’s Highland Market (Map it!).
Dana DeLatte, founder of Sharp Cook Cooking Classes, will feature a session called Tailgating with Tamales on Thursday, Sept. 19, at the gourmet grocery store.
“Our goal is to have fun, enjoy delicious food, and take away recipes and new friends to enjoy later,” says DeLatte, who formerly taught classes through Red Stick Spice Company.

At her upcoming class, DeLatte says she plans to show participants how to prepare Cajun-style tamales step by step, along with homemade chunky tomato salsa and a chocolate tamale for dessert. Cost is $38 per person. The session starts at 11 a.m. Call 247-2632 to register.—Maggie Heyn Richardson
