Why did you leave?

I was excited for the opportunity to live in New York City. I had always visited friends there, and it was always so easy to imagine myself living there. I would return to Baton Rouge and just miss it.

What do you miss?

All of my gorgeous, sweet and amazing friends.

What don’t you miss?

The traffic and the summer weather—I don’t do well in the heat and humidity.

What’s essential when you visit home?

Visiting with friends and Lebanese food!

What does New York City have that you wish Baton Rouge did?

A more diverse culture and a more pedestrian lifestyle.

What do you like most about New York?

New York simply has an energy to it. Just walking around day to day is inspiring. You feel like the possibilities are endless. Every day is different.

What don’t you like?

With the sheer amount of people on the relatively small island of Manhattan, a large amount of dirt and garbage is inevitable.

How does the food compare to Baton Rouge?

Both cities have amazing restaurants. The only difference is that New York has a larger variety in terms of types of cuisine.

How about the music, the nightlife?

Music and nightlife in New York City is unparalleled. That’s really all I can say about it. Ha ha.
