Seven Samurai screening

Head to the Manship Theatre Saturday for a screening of Akira Kurosawa’s epic tale about honor and duty during a time when the old traditional order is breaking down. Seven samurai are assembled to defend a village from marauding bandits, led by master samurai Kimbei. Together they consolidate the village’s defenses, but soon raids and counter-raids—and the tension between these seven very different men and the villagers—lead to a heart-wrenching conclusion. 7 p.m. Tickets are $8.50 at manshiptheatre.org.
