See ‘Tammy’ in theaters now – Melissa McCarthy is having some serious bad luck in this new comedy.

Melissa McCarthy is having some serious bad luck in this new comedy. McCarthy stars as the title character in Tammy, a movie about a woman who can’t seem to make the right decisions. In an attempt to turn things around, Tammy hits the road with her hard-drinking grandmother, played by Susan Sarandon. McCarthy wrote the film with her husband, Ben Falcone, who is also the film’s director. Tammy has an all-star supporting cast, including Kathy Bates, Dan Aykroyd, Gary Cole and Toni Collette. McCarthy’s last major role was alongside Sandra Bullock in The Heat, which more than tripled its budget and was one of the bigger comedies of last year. With a relatively sparse Fourth of July movie weekend, Tammy could be a welcome surprise for those looking for something different than movie sequels. Rated R. View the trailer below.
