Aaron Eckhart stars in an imaginative re-telling of a classic tale. I, Frankenstein features Eckhart as the title character. Unlike previous versions of Mary Shelley’s story, the protagonist is viewed as a superhero caught in an all-out battle between two immortal clans. The film comes from the producers of the successful Underworld series. Bill Nighy and Jai Courtney co-star, and Stuart Beattie directs. With January usually seeing the dregs of the movie release calendar, this has the potential to be a sleeper hit—there is no other major release scheduled this week. Rated PG-13.
