The local company gives new life to a timeless story this weekend. Theatre Baton Rouge puts its own spin on Annie, with performances starting Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Watch as orphan Annie charms her way into Daddy Warbucks’ heart and foils Miss Hannigan’s evil plans. The Tony Award-winning musical is based on the Harold Gray comic strip Little Orphan Annie and opened on Broadway in 1977. The play features classic songs such as “It’s a Hard Knock Life,” “Tomorrow” and many more. Additional performances run Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $28.
