Scuttlebutt: International Tasting Fair planned for November; Satsumas a trendy ingredient

Oh la la: The Baton Rouge Center for World Affairs is teasing its e-mail list subscribers with plans for an International Tasting Fair & Cooking Competition on Nov. 1 at the Louisiana State Museum. Orange ya glad? With the recent release Abita Satsuma Harvest Wit — which has already hit mixed reviews (some say the summer beer doesn’t deliver the satsuma “oompf”) — other Louisiana product companies are looking to hop onto the satsuma bandwagon. The taste creators at Kleinpeter Dairy, who are constantly looking to create the next great ice-cream flavor, are allegedly working on a satsuma-flavored ice cream. That could be sweet!
