Runway to Real Way: Caroline Issa

Caroline Issa

Coming straight out of the long, frigid winter we’ve had here in the South, I think we are all ready to shed our dark colors and welcome the bright spring into our closets. Pastels for spring are an obvious choice. Bubblegum pink, mint green, baby blue, Laffy Taffy yellow, all of these are gorgeous this season. Now, how can we update the traditional spring shades this season? Monochrome.

We wear all black outfits all winter, so brighten your look up a bit! Stick to one color family and work within the different saturations of that. This photo of Tank Magazine‘s Caroline Issa struck me as a lovely way to be trendy but classic at the same time. Issa’s blue hues are so similar that they almost clash, but kept in classic shapes it reads very crisp.

Start out transitioning a lightweight sweater over a two-shades-darker blouse, paired with neutral bottoms and nude flats. Invest in a fun cross body bag in a similar tone to bring the look together. Lastly, swipe a little Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie to brighten up your winter face.
