Runnels’ Wizard of Oz includes flying monkeys on skates

Flying monkeys on skates? This is not your typical school play. The Runnels Theater for the Performing Arts presents the stage adaptation of The Wizard of Oz, featuring some 130 students from the school’s drama, band, chorus, computer, art and dance departments. The technical theater and multimedia engineering classes put their heads together to create computer-generated special effects. Six performances at Runnels on South Harrell’s Ferry Road: 7 p.m. this Friday and Saturday and Feb. 13-14 and 2 p.m. matinee shows Feb. 8 and 15.
