Royal Teeth comes home

2013 was quite a year for the south Louisiana indie-pop band Royal Teeth. The band released its full-length debut, Glow, on Dangerbird Records and toured across the country many times over, bringing its infectious sounds to packed houses almost every night of the week. Dennis Ledbetter CD Release Party. The local singer-songwriter celebrates the release of his new album, If You Drive Me to Drinking (I’ll Buy the Gas) at Cadillac Café. 7 p.m.
Eric DiSanto. The blues singer performs as a part of Royal Cyclops’ Local Songwriter Showcase at Red Dragon Listening Room. 7:30 p.m.

Hip Hop Night. DJ Mike Larry provides the tunes in this new weekly event at Spanish Moon. Ladies drink free until 10 p.m. No cover for guys until 10 p.m. $5.
Luke St. John’s Hotep in Headphones. Quarters hosts a listening party for the hip-hop artist’s latest album, Vivid Times. 7 p.m.

England in 1819. Baton Rouge’s own England in 1819 performs the first in a series of concerts coupled with art exhibits at Baton Rouge Gallery. Tickets are $10 online. 7 p.m.
Vagabond Swing. Lafayette gypsy punk jazz rock at Mud and Water. $8. 9 p.m.
Selfaware Wolf, Melters, Strugglebear. A slew of punk rock bands take the Spanish Moon stage. $7. 10 p.m.
The Soul Rebels. The brass band performs at Chelsea’s Café. 10:30 p.m.

Bad Santa Party with Polly Pry. Music, prizes and more at Mud and Water. This show will feature a costume contest for nicest, naughtiest and best in show as well as pictures with Santa and a special holiday drink menu. Proceeds from the event go to benefit Readers & Writers, Baton Rouge’s premiere literary reading series. $10. 8 p.m.
Trailer Hounds. The local funk and fusion band performs at Chelsea’s Café. 10:30 p.m.
