Roundup: Zoe’s Kitchen coming to Baton Rouge … Hotel Indigo sets opening date
Kitchen coming: The second Zoe’s in Baton Rouge is set to open in the spring, in the space next to Kiki. Birmingham, Ala.-based Zoe’s has been in Towne Center since 2005. Balow says other restaurant operators have shown interest in a couple of other vacant spots in Perkins Rowe: the old Fish City Grill space next to the movie theater and a space along Bluebonnet Boulevard. Indigo a go-go: The Hotel Indigo, downtown’s newest hotel, is preparing to open Feb. 17. Hotel officials announced the opening date Tuesday, and attendees at the Downtown Development District meeting got a tour of the property. The 93-room hotel is located at the corner of Convention and Lafayette streets. Hotel Indigo will employ between 50 and 60 people. The property had been the Hotel King before a $25 million renovation that started in September 2009.
