Roundup: VooDoo BBQ eyes Austin, Biloxi, Atlanta locations

That VooDoo they do: Baton Rouge-based VooDoo BBQ & Grill continues to grow rapidly. CEO Tony Avila told Restaurant Management that he’s signed a deal to open a location in Biloxi, Miss. Also, a deal is “very, very close” with a franchisee in Austin, Texas, who will launch five restaurants, Avila says. VooDoo is looking at opening franchises in other markets, including Atlanta, Washington, D.C., and Florida. VooDoo is set to open a restaurant in Greenville, S.C., this winter. The chain, which started in New Orleans in 2002, currently has 12 locations. By mid-2013, Avila expects to have 22 to 25 restaurants welcoming diners. Read the VooDoo story here.
