Taste of the South: Southern Living Magazine has named Lafayette its No. 1 “Tastiest Town in the South.” New Orleans came in at No. 9. Bowling for dollars: Mayor-President Melvin “Kip” Holden hosted a special “Bowling Challenge” at the United States Bowling Congress’ professional lanes at the River Center on Friday, Feb. 24, an event that raised $30,000 for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. Local celebrities, bowlers and spectators took over the to support the Food Bank and help fight hunger in the community.
