Roundup: Rotolo’s opens 20th location … Domestic wine makers post gains

Pizza milestone: Rotolo’s Pizzeria opened its 20th location Monday, in Pearl River. Rotolo’s was founded in 1996 and started franchising in 2009; the chain now has locations across south Louisiana, along with restaurants in Orange Beach, Ala., and Mesa, Ariz. Rotolo’s is set to open two more restaurants by the end of the year, on Perkins Road in the Panache Plaza Shopping Center and on Millerville Road, just south of Interstate 12. Wined-up market: U.S. wine consumption rose 2.1% in 2010, to reach 303.1 million cases. The Beverage Information Group says the increase happened despite a 0.9% drop in the sale of imported wines, down to 73.6 million cases. Domestic wine sales rose 3% to reach 229.4 million cases. The Beverage Information Group says it expects wine sales to increase over the next five years, to reach 321.9 million cases in 2015.
