Roundup: Remmetter to reopen Cuban Liquor … Mexican meat market coming to Mid City

Catch Cuban fever: Cuban Liquor of Baton Rouge, a longtime Perkins Road package store, is set to reopen by Thanksgiving. Dave Remmetter, who owns Chelsea’s Café, says he is leasing the property from the Vu family, which bought the building earlier this year. Plans are to sell wine, beer and liquor out of the store. In the market for meat: La Morenita Meat Market, a chain of Mexican grocery stores, is preparing to open a location on Florida Boulevard, next to Office Depot. The 20,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open by the end of the year, say employees at La Morenita’s location in Scott.
