Roundup: Jindals collect, donate 1,000 pounds of food

Half a ton: A canned food drive by Gov. Bobby Jindal and his wife, Supriya, has yielded more than 1,000 pounds of food to be donated to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. The drive occurred during the governor’s inauguration and over the Christmas holiday season. The state’s first lady thanked everyone who participated and encouraged those who didn’t to consider doing so on their own. She noted that Louisiana’s food banks not only respond during emergencies but also serve communities year-round.
