Roundup: Jimmy John’s expanding Perkins location … Rotolo’s corporate moving to East Baton Rouge
Larger locale: Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches is adding 1,136 square feet to its Perkins Road location. The sandwich shop will take up the last bit of available space in the mixed-use development at the site of the old Perkins Road Hardware store. Kyle Wilkinson, who has the local Jimmy John’s franchise, says the restaurant needed more space for customers and employees. The addition, set to open April 21, will add 20 indoor seats and 250 square feet to the kitchen. Rotolo’s reaches out: Rotolo’s Pizzeria, which recently opened restaurants in Denham Springs and River Ridge, plans to open three locations by midsummer. A location in Orange Beach, Ala., is set to open next month, says Mitch Rotolo. This will be the second location outside of the state, joining a restaurant that opened in Mesa, Ariz., in late 2010. A Walker restaurant will open in early June, and a Pearl River spot in early July, Rotolo says. By the end of the year, Rotolo’s expects to open a new restaurant and corporate headquarters on Millerville Road.
